Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8: "Passport" Design and Specs Leaked
Samsung's upcoming foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, has been fully leaked, revealing a more square design and details on its displays, processor, and battery ahead of its official July launch.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is shaping up with a refreshed and more compact design, adopting a "passport"-like aesthetic that sets it apart from its predecessors. This new model, expected to be formally unveiled on July 22 at the Samsung Unpacked event in London, has already revealed its key features and color options through a detailed leak.
Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which will maintain the book-like format identical to the Fold 7, the standard Fold 8 opts for a squarer aesthetic, reminiscent of the first-generation Pixel Fold. This design choice suggests a pursuit of greater portability and a different user experience for foldable enthusiasts.

Personalization will be a strong point, with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 available in three main color options: cream, graphite, and lavender. For those seeking something more exclusive, a fourth pistachio variant will be offered solely through Samsung's online store, adding a distinctive touch.
Regarding its displays, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 does not disappoint. The exterior screen will be 5.5 inches with QHD+ resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio, ideal for quick interactions. When unfolded, users will find a 7.6-inch internal panel, also QHD+, but with a 4:3 aspect ratio, optimized for productivity and content consumption.

Under the hood, performance will be ensured by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip, an expected choice for a device in this category. This powerful processor will be complemented by 12 GB of RAM and internal storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, or up to 1 TB, offering ample space for applications and files.
The device's autonomy will come from a 4,800 mAh battery. Although finer details on the camera configuration are yet to be confirmed, it is known that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will feature two rear cameras, unlike the three that the Fold 8 Ultra will equip. Its charging is also presumed to be slower compared to its larger sibling.
The dimensions of the new foldable also promise a slimmer profile. Android Headlines reports that the device will have a thickness of 9.7 millimeters when folded and will reduce to 4.5 millimeters when unfolded. Furthermore, its weight is expected to be around 200 grams, positioning it as a relatively lightweight foldable.
The Samsung Unpacked event in London on July 22 will be the stage for the official presentation of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and its Ultra variant. In addition to these models, Samsung also plans to introduce the Z Flip 8 and the new Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2 smartwatches, solidifying a robust lineup of launches.
This launch marks a clear strategy by Samsung to diversify its foldable offerings, with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 targeting a segment that values a more compact and manageable form factor, while the Ultra maintains the traditional line. The company aims to capture a broader audience within the growing flexible smartphone market.
