The project has already sparked excitement among fans and the gaming community. Wilton Regan shared her honor at being trusted with such an iconic British character and expressed confidence in Sophie Turner’s casting for the same role.

She mentioned knowing Turner personally and believes she will be a perfect on-camera Lara Croft. Wilton Regan also highlighted that Turner’s appearance resembles a Greek goddess and her commanding presence makes her a natural choice. The actress emphasized that having a talented, iconic British actress play Lara adds authenticity to the adaptation.

Regarding the inevitable comparisons between their performances, Wilton Regan was pragmatic. She understands the gaming world and is comfortable with diverse audience reactions. Meanwhile, in the gaming universe, it was announced that the next Tomb Raider game, titled "Tomb Raider: Catalyst," is scheduled for release in 2027 by Amazon Game Studios and Crystal Dynamics. Additionally, a reimagining of the original, "Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis," built with Unreal Engine 5, is set to launch this year. Both titles will feature Wilton Regan as Lara Croft, replacing Camilla Luddington, who voiced her in the 2013-2018 reboot trilogy.

Wilton Regan has played several major video game characters, including the Female Inquisitor in Dragon Age, Samantha Traynor in Mass Effect 3, and Aya in Assassin’s Creed Origins. She was also set to portray Joanna Dark in the canceled Perfect Dark reboot, which was affected by layoffs. Meanwhile, the series continues to develop, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge as creator and executive producer, and Jonathan Van Tulleken directing.
