What happened to the Paladin in Diablo 4? In Season 13, this class is the only one that hasn't completed a Tier 150 run of The Pit, establishing it as the least effective class in the game's current meta.

The Pit stands as one of Diablo 4's most popular endgame activities. Here, players must clear a dungeon full of enemies and defeat a final boss against a timer, aiming to complete the challenge as quickly as possible.

This activity is closely tied to the game's World Tiers, allowing players to unlock higher difficulties with each successful run. In total, gamers can tackle up to 150 tiers of The Pit, widely considered the ultimate test for any Diablo 4 build.

The Helltides' Pit leaderboards for Season 13 confirm the Paladin as the sole class without a recorded Tier 150 completion.

This officially positions the Paladin as Diablo 4's weakest class in Season 13, overshadowed by all others in the current meta. While powerful Paladin builds certainly exist, they simply aren't viable for pushing the game's extreme difficulty limits right now.

For context, the highest Paladin build in Season 13 reached Tier 146, completing it in a relatively slow 13 minutes and 29 seconds. Every other class not only boasts a Tier 150 run but has also managed to achieve it faster than the Paladin's current top performance.

This significant drop in the Paladin's meta standing in Season 13 is quite surprising. It's worth remembering that the Paladin was the dominant class in Diablo 4 throughout Season 12. While new classes often start overpowered and nerfs are standard, going from the best to the worst in a single season is an unexpected turn.

Season 13 marked the first season of the Lord of Hatred expansion, which brought substantial buffs to many of the game's classes. Notably, prior to Season 13, no class had managed to beat The Pit at Tier 150 since Season 7, highlighting a much more powerful overall meta this time around.

Season 14 of Diablo 4 is expected to launch on June 30, returning to traditional seasonal mechanics with the introduction of “Pandemonium Ruptures.” This upcoming change could potentially rebalance the playing field for the Paladin, especially given that the recent Public Test Realm (PTR) for Season 14 left some players feeling worried.
