Marvel's Wolverine: Brutal gameplay and September 15th release for PS5

Sony and Insomniac Games ignited excitement at the recent State of Play event, unveiling a new and highly anticipated look at "Marvel's Wolverine," their upcoming major title exclusively for PlayStation 5, slated for release on September 15th.

The preview showcased Logan, clad in his iconic yellow Wolverine outfit, slicing and stabbing his way through numerous enemies. Combat appeared "weighty and satisfying," promising a visceral experience for players.

The game's intense violence was a clear highlight, with "red flying everywhere" as Logan fought his opponents. This emphasizes a mature and uncompromising approach to the mutant's adventure.

This upcoming launch marks the culmination of a long wait for fans of the character. Sony and Insomniac initially announced the game back in 2021, keeping details scarce for a considerable period.

While initial information was limited, Sony previously offered a gameplay glimpse in a separate State of Play event in September 2025. The official release date was confirmed in February, setting the stage for this month's presentation.

Insomniac Games boasts an impressive track record with Marvel titles, setting high expectations for this new venture. The studio delivered the critically acclaimed "Spider-Man" game for PS4 in 2018, which redefined superhero adaptations.

That success was followed by the "Spider-Man: Miles Morales" spinoff and the full sequel, "Spider-Man 2," which featured both Peter Parker and Miles Morales in a joint adventure. This prior experience with the Marvel universe ensures a strong foundation for Wolverine.
