NASA earned 7 nominations for the 2025 Webby Awards, among the most respected honors in digital media. The nods span immersive content, social media, video, and podcasts, highlighting the agency’s science outreach across multiple centers.

These nominations reflect NASA’s evolution from typed press releases to advanced digital platforms. Today, its strategy includes interactive experiences, social campaigns, and original documentaries that bring science to global audiences.

Notable entries include "Hearing Hubble", an immersive NASA Goddard project that translates astronomical data into sound. Also nominated is the campaign "NASA’s Webb Telescope and the Universe", using social media to connect people with discoveries from the space telescope.

In video, the documentary "Cosmic Dawn", available on NASA+, is up for General Video and Film: Documentary: Longform. For podcasts, "Houston We Have a Podcast" (NASA Johnson) and "NASA’s Curious Universe" (NASA HQ) earned nods in science and education categories.

The public can vote for the People’s Voice Award until April 16, 2025. Winners in each category are chosen by online voting, while the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences selects the official Webby winners.

Since 1996, the Webby Awards have celebrated internet excellence, judged by a panel of over 3,000 digital experts. "Clear and creative science communication is key to inspiring new generations", says one agency communicator.
