IMAX dismisses Disney's Infinity Vision as a marketing ploy
IMAX responded to Disney's announcement of Infinity Vision, calling it a marketing move to distract from Dune 3's simultaneous release on their screens.

IMAX has publicly criticized Disney's Infinity Vision, calling it a mere marketing tactic. The company argued that Infinity Vision aims to position itself as an alternative to IMAX, but without being a true rival. Disney announced that Infinity Vision would be a network of theaters with large screens, laser projection, and premium sound, launching with the re-release of Avengers: Endgame in September and debuting Avengers: Doomsday in December. Disney's goal is to offer audiences the most immersive cinematic experience possible. However, IMAX's chief financial officer, Natasha Fernandes, dismissed the move, suggesting it’s an attempt to offset Disney's lack of an IMAX platform for Avengers: Doomsday. Fernandes emphasized that discerning moviegoers will notice the difference, reaffirming IMAX's leadership in premium cinema worldwide. The competition for the biggest and brightest screens heats up, and the film industry eagerly awaits how audiences will respond later this year. The battle for the largest, most immersive screens is more intense than ever, and only time will tell who comes out on top in this format war.
IMAX stated that Infinity Vision is a marketing strategy to distract from Dune 3's release on their exclusive screens.
