Asus announced its latest secondary monitor, the ROG Strix XG129C, a 12.3-inch IPS touchscreen aimed at gamers and content creators. Slightly smaller than competitors like Corsair’s Xeneon Edge, this device is designed to serve as a sidekick to larger main screens, similar to the secondary display in the 2020 Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15.

The XG129C features a 720p resolution and covers 125 percent of the sRGB color gamut and 90 percent of DCI-P3, ensuring vibrant color reproduction. It also comes with a one-year subscription to AIDA64 Extreme, a hardware monitoring tool that usually costs $65, allowing users to track their PC performance in real-time.

Secondary displays like this have gained popularity among streamers and editors, as they help manage functions without interrupting the main display. Asus also announced a 34-inch monitor, the ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMS, with a 280Hz refresh rate and 3440x1440p resolution, covering 99% of DCI-P3, though pricing has not been disclosed yet.

With its compact size, the XG129C aims to compete with products like Elgato’s Stream Deck, offering a tactile solution to boost productivity and gaming experience. The company has not announced availability or final price but promises to be an interesting option for those looking to expand their setup for work or gaming.

This launch highlights Asus’s focus on expanding its gaming and creator accessories, integrating touch screens and advanced monitoring to enhance high-performance setups.
