Leaks suggest PS6 will be a powerful console with major upgrades
Recent leaks indicate that Sony's upcoming PS6 will bring significant hardware and software improvements, including a new controller approach.

The timeline for the PS6 remains uncertain, with initial rumors pointing to a late 2026 or early 2027 release. However, ongoing memory shortages in the market are likely to delay its launch by several months. Despite this, leaks reveal that when it arrives, the PS6 will be a major leap forward from the PS5.
New leaks suggest that the PS6 will not only upgrade its hardware but also enhance its software features. This is linked to developments seen in the PS5 Pro and its PSSR technology. The new console is expected to focus heavily on frame rate generation, AI integration, social features, cloud gaming, and exclusive titles.
The leaks point to the PS6 being a huge qualitative leap in hardware and software, with a focus on AI and cloud streaming.
On the hardware side, Sony is believed to be pushing for cloud game streaming improvements, utilizing PCIe Gen5 NVMe to boost speed and reduce latency. This would involve a direct hardware upgrade, significantly enhancing remote gaming experiences.
It is also rumored that the PS6 will adopt PCIe Gen5 technology, featuring a 1 TB SSD that could nearly double current speeds. While the PS5 offers read speeds up to 7500 MB/s, the PS6 might reach around 15,000 MB/s, enabling faster load times and smoother gameplay.
Another key rumor concerns the controller. Although details are scarce, experts believe Sony will continue using the SAVANT architecture for feedback systems. Additionally, the company might release a new controller with each generation, maintaining compatibility only with that console's games, though nothing is confirmed yet.
