The highly anticipated aquatic survival game, Subnautica 2, appears to have been leaked just ahead of its early access release. The developer Krafton confirmed that the leaked material includes screenshots and a gameplay video shared anonymously on Reddit.

The game is set to launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC this Thursday, May 14. The leak shows a brief early section of gameplay, along with a visual menu where players can adjust graphics and window settings.

This incident follows recent leaks of titles like Forza Horizon 6 and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, which occurred within days of each other. Forza Horizon 6’s developer Playground Games issued a stern warning to players, including a hardware ban until the year 10,000, for those who played the leaked build.

The company has not issued a statement yet, but the leak raises questions about security measures during the pre-launch phase.

Set in an alien underwater world, Subnautica 2 promises exploration, crafting, and survival in diverse biomes. The original series was praised for its immersive atmosphere and first-person gameplay. The sequel aims to expand on that experience, though no details are available yet for PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch 2.

The game is available for pre-order and preload on Steam and Xbox Series X/S, and will be included in Game Pass at launch. Fans hope the leak won’t affect the official release, expected to be one of the biggest gaming events of the month.

The leak also reveals that the PC version will allow players to modify graphics settings, which could help optimize performance across different hardware. It remains unclear whether the leaked build is a final version or still in development.

This incident highlights the vulnerabilities in digital game launches and the importance of securing pre-release content. The community and developers are watching closely for further updates and official statements regarding this leak.
