PlayStation 6: Rumors Point to Three Devices and Estimated Prices for 2027
A recent leak suggests Sony plans to launch a new generation of PlayStation consoles in 2027, including a main model, an economic version, and a portable device.

The future of PlayStation might be more ambitious than we imagine. A significant leak suggests that Sony plans to launch the next generation, the PlayStation 6, with three new devices in 2027. This strategy aims to offer varied options to the gaming community, from a high-end main console to a more accessible alternative and a portable experience, with prices already beginning to circulate.
This information comes from Moore’s Law is Dead, a well-known analyst who shared details in a video. The leaker examined Sony's potential hardware, highlighting the simultaneous launch of a main PS6, a “lite” version called “PS6 S,” and a PS6 portable. Each device would feature specific chipsets for its performance.
According to the data, the main PS6 console would incorporate an “Orion” CPU. Meanwhile, both the “PS6 S” and the PS6 portable would be equipped with an AMD “Canis” chipset. These components promise a significant evolution in processing and graphics capabilities for the next era of gaming.

Regarding pricing, Moore’s Law is Dead did not provide definitive figures but explained the influencing factors. The increase in component value, global RAM scarcity, and rising tariffs are key elements. These aspects could make final prices quite volatile and subject to change.
However, the YouTuber ventured to estimate price ranges to give the audience a reference. The “PS6 S” could cost between $349 and $549. The PS6 portable would be priced between $499 and $699. Finally, the main PS6, the most powerful model, would have an estimated price between $699 and $999.
It is crucial to remember that all this information is, for now, pure speculation. Sony has not confirmed any details about the PlayStation 6 or its possible variants. Nevertheless, considering the recent price adjustments for the PS5, it is plausible that the next generation could be more expensive than its predecessor at its original 2020 launch. We will be watching for any official news!
