Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters confirms release date and updates
The long-awaited soccer game sequel arrives in August with a revamped story mode and improved mechanics.

Bandai Namco officially announced that Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters will launch on consoles and PC on August 28. The highly anticipated sequel to the beloved soccer saga based on the anime comes with several exciting updates.
The most notable feature is the new story mode, which will follow the Junior World Cup arc. Players will guide Tsubasa Ozora and the Japanese team from Asian qualifiers to the tournament's final stages.

"The story mode will adapt the Junior World Cup arc, facing Japan against rivals like Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and China".
Challenges will be tougher with matches against powerhouse teams such as Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Sweden, and the Netherlands. The gameplay has been overhauled for smoother control, featuring a system called Super Action Soccer that allows for spectacular combo plays.
A tactical innovation is the new duel system between goalkeepers and attackers, where direct confrontations make each attack more strategic and tense. The soundtrack also gets a boost, with over 80 new tracks by Tadayoshi Makino enhancing the game's epic feel.
The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Pre-orders are already open on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam, with physical editions reservable for all platforms.
