Disney is in the early stages of exploring a potential 'super app' that would combine several of its digital platforms, according to Bloomberg reports. The goal is to integrate Disney+ with apps such as Disneyland Resort and Disney Cruise Line Navigator into a single application.

Sources close to Disney said these discussions are still in initial phases, but internally they refer to this as a 'super app.'

Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro, who took over earlier this year, has emphasized his plan to streamline and unify the Disney experience. During the recent earnings call, D’Amaro stated that "Disney+ will become the primary relationship point between Disney and its fans, bringing everything together".

"Disney+ will become the main hub connecting Disney with its audience, consolidating all services."

This initiative echoes Elon Musk’s desire to turn X into an 'everything app' similar to China’s WeChat, though on a smaller scale. Disney’s aim is to bring all its mobile platforms under one roof, making it more feasible but still ambitious.

It’s likely Disney wants to boost park attendance by leveraging Disney+ to attract more subscribers and visitors. However, the fact that Disney+ subscribers and park visitors aren’t necessarily the same group could lead to challenges if the app becomes cluttered with ads or promotions.

This project highlights Disney’s strategy to strengthen its digital ecosystem and deepen engagement with its audience, offering a more integrated and appealing experience across its services.
